Craft Your Own Foaming Hand Soap

Craft Your Own Foaming Hand Soap

I started making my own foaming hand soap when I began adopting a more natural lifestyle. With concerns about antibacterial ingredients in many commercial soaps and having kids who constantly wash their hands, arms, and the counter, I needed a healthier and more budget-friendly option.

Luckily, there’s a natural, homemade, and incredibly easy recipe that works just as well and doesn’t cost $3.59 per bottle like the store-bought foaming versions. The recipe is so simple that I now have my six-year-old refill the bottles, and it takes just seconds to prepare. I always keep the few simple ingredients on hand, so we never need to buy hand soap or worry about running out. Surprisingly, this foaming soap also doubles as a decent shaving cream in the shower.

Before you begin, you’ll need a foaming hand soap container. I initially bought a fancy but expensive foam dispenser online before realizing there was a more economical option. You can purchase a bottle of foaming hand soap, pour it out if it’s not natural, and then reuse the container after the soap is gone.

Have you tried making your own soap yet? If you haven’t, will you consider starting now? Share your thoughts!
