I’m still getting used to enjoying winter. Coming from Texas, I had to adapt to the cold, but now I’m embracing it by adding cozy and natural touches to my home to celebrate the season.
I want to share my Winter Bliss Lotion Bar recipe, which I first created years ago. It’s a simple and satisfying DIY project, even for beginners. These bars are not only super moisturizing but also scented with natural oils like wintergreen and peppermint.
Think about how awesome they would be in a gift basket along with some hot chocolate mix, a bottle of wine (or wassail), and some homemade bath salts!
I needed a lotion recipe that included my favorite winter scents while also nourishing my skin. I’ve experimented with various lotion bars before, but this time I aimed for one that was perfectly suited for winter and would make a fantastic and fragrant gift. The result was these lotion bars.
This recipe couldn’t be easier! Just melt and mix coconut oil, shea butter, and beeswax. Add essential oils, pour the mixture into molds, and let it harden. It’s that simple!
The magic here is the blend of essential oil scents that give the bar its unique seasonal charm.
Unlike my usual lotion bar recipe, I prefer to make or gift my Winter Bliss Bars in a tube (to keep the peppermint oil from getting on hands and near eyes). An empty deodorant tube works great, but if you’re gifting and want it to look special, consider using that option or simply pour into a silicone mold.
Here’s how to make it!
