I’ve been really into different healing clays, and my current favorite is Rhassoul Clay. This amazing natural clay from Morocco is great for both skin and hair and is surprisingly affordable.
Rhassoul Clay is sourced from the Atlas Mountains in Morocco and is renowned for its use in spas to treat skin and hair. It’s also known as Ghassoul Clay, Red Clay, or Red Moroccan Clay, and can only be found under this unique mountain range. The clay is created through a combination of volcanic and geothermal activity.
This clay is left untreated and naturally dried, leading to its silky texture, which can help balance skin tone and clear up blemishes. Its ability to nourish the skin while reducing breakouts makes it a popular choice for daily washing, as a natural alternative to soap and shampoo. Clinical studies show that Rhassoul Clay can enhance skin elasticity, even out skin tone, and reduce dryness, flakiness, blemishes, and blackheads.
Much like Bentonite Clay, it has the ability to expand when mixed with water, but Rhassoul packs an extra punch with higher levels of silica and magnesium, making it especially beneficial for the skin. It’s gentle enough to use every day in place of soap, ensuring skin retains its natural oils.
With its high negative charge, Rhassoul Clay is also great at pulling out blackheads and impurities, making it an excellent choice for removing makeup or as an all-purpose face wash.
You can use Rhassoul just like any other healing clay. I’ve tried it in many ways, such as replacing other clays in recipes like Hair Detox, Mud Masks, Detox Foot Soaks, and armpit detoxes.
Rhassoul is similar to many other soothing clays, and they can often be swapped in recipes. I typically buy clays and other beauty ingredients in bulk to save money, which is how I’ve found some great deals on quality Rhassoul Clay.
Have you ever tried Rhassoul Clay yourself? How did you use it?
