I remember having a little pop-up tent in our backyard when I was a kid. My brother and I used to spend hours turning it into a fort, a castle, a post office, and all sorts of imaginative creations. While that tent only remains in our childhood memories now, I wanted to find something similar for my children to enjoy outdoors during the summer. I needed something that was easy to store, provided shade, but still allowed the breeze to come through.
That’s when burlap came to mind as the perfect solution. I’ve used it in so many ways: making seasonal wreaths, garlands for the Christmas tree, table runners, and even framing pictures. A friend of mine once used it to create beautiful DIY curtains. Burlap is incredibly versatile, and I just love its natural look.
Once we had the design ready, building this project became a fun activity for the grandfather and grandkids. They had a great time with it. Now, let the children enjoy the results of your efforts.
Have you ever tried a DIY project for kids like this one? How did it go?
