Seven Kitchen Ingredients for Enhancing Your Beauty Routine

Seven Kitchen Ingredients for Enhancing Your Beauty Routine

There are plenty of natural beauty tips and tricks you can try at home using ingredients from your kitchen. Instead of using harsh soaps, cleanse your skin with a mix of oils like olive, coconut, or almond oil combined with castor oil. My favorite blend is 25% castor oil and 75% sweet almond oil.

Here’s how: Rub a small amount of oil onto your dry face and massage it in for a few minutes. Then, soak a clean washcloth in hot water, place it on your face until it cools, and gently wipe away the oil. Your skin will feel incredibly soft!

I used to struggle with tanning until I started eating healthier. I tried various natural bronzers and self-tanning lotions, but now I can tan easily. For a quick bronze look, I mix cocoa powder, cinnamon, and a bit of arrowroot. Adjust the proportions to match your skin tone, store it in a jar, and brush it on for an instant glow. It smells great too! You can also mix it with lotion for a liquid version.

You don’t need to spend a fortune at the spa for great skin. Use foods like honey, plain yogurt, or whipped egg whites for a toning facial mask that leaves your skin glowing.

For teeth whitening, try a paste of mashed strawberries and baking soda. Apply it with a mouthguard for up to 30 minutes a couple of times a week. For faster results, swish a tablespoon of olive oil in your mouth for 20 minutes each night. If strawberries aren’t your thing, activated charcoal works well too.

For a hair-strengthening treat, mix a banana and an avocado into a smooth puree. Add essential oils if you like, then comb it through clean, damp hair, cover with a shower cap, and leave it on for at least 15 minutes before rinsing. Your hair will be shiny and smooth!

Sugar is great for your skin, even if it’s not for your body. Make a sugar scrub by mixing equal parts sugar and olive or almond oil, adding essential oils if you like. Rub it onto your skin to exfoliate, then rinse with warm water.

For a natural microdermabrasion, use baking soda. Wet your face with warm water, massage baking soda into your skin for at least three minutes, then rinse and pat dry. It might sting a bit, but it leaves your skin glowing!
